Molly + George | a ‘Geolly’ good time {SDE}

Molly + George were married at the beautiful chapel at Middlesex College. They had a traditional ceremony with a twist adding in some personal [and adorable] verses to the traditional wedding vows. Seeing the love and respect between them was just amazing. Their reception was held at one of our favourite venues in new england [The Barn at Gibbit Hill]. It was decorated beautifully with a simple and elegent floral design by [Twigs and Sprigs].

Jeff and I recently attended a yearly filmmakers conference and one of the things I took away  from the experience was that all too often filmmakers forget to smile while filming. For Molly + George’s wedding we were on our smile A-game. This mindset made me more conscious of the other vendors at the wedding and what I noticed was that not only was everyone extremely talented and friendly but they were all smiling and having a genuine good time as well. Greg + Diane Capozzi of [C-Zone] were dancing the whole night, they kept the floor packed up until the end of the evening! The photographers James + Kate [The Feds] were so friendly, relaxed, and smiled the whole day! It was amazing to see how much we all love what we do and how it showed on our faces and the way we all interacted with the wedding party as well as each other.

The Same Day Edit was so much fun to put together, we knew that it was important to both Molly and George but the ration from the wedding party was amazing it really make you love what you do that much more when you get to see such an intense happy reaction from the couple and guests alike!

Thank you for choosing us to film your special day :-)

Cheers!

Joy + Ernie | little moments {London story of love + extended SDE}

I couldn’t think of a better experience to kick off my first [of many] blog post than with the New Years Eve wedding of Joy + Ernie.  We first met this amazing couple at Joy’s flat in London, England where we spent two days filming their story of love around the city which culminated with an interview in the solarium of Joys flat. Joy and Ernie are two of the most genuine, kind and warm hearted people that we have had the privilege of meeting. Being able to document their story and wedding day was truly an honor for both Jeff, Emma and myself.

Joy + Ernie first met through Joys best friend who just happens to be Ernie’s older sister, the two of them had little moments getting to know one another for years before they began dating. In the early stages go their relationship Joy was offered a job opportunity in London which she couldn’t turn down. Ernie was supportive of the opportunity and the two of them had a long distance relationship seeing each other as much as possible. Their engagement happened in Cape Town, South Africa where Ernie was for work with the US Air Force. He invited her there and had spent the week leading up to her visit planning the perfect location to propose…. and of course, she said YES!

Their London story of love film…

The wedding day was just amazing, their wedding planner Danyett of TwoBeWed was friendly, easy to work with and made sure that everything went off according to plan throughout the day…. But as we all know well that doesn’t mean there wasn’t a small hiccup during the day which happened just before the first look when THE FIRE ALARM WENT OFF!!!… This didn’t stop Ernie from continuing to get ready as if nothing was going on [quite amazing to watch] and it didn’t slow down the first look even when the elevators were not running. Joy was such a trooper she walked up the service stairs in her dress to get to the first look location! We also had the privilege of working along side Alice + Eric Yeh of Serendipity Photography who were just lovely to work with. They were unobtrusive, accomodating and complimented our style well. Its amazing how smooth and worry free the day goes when you get to work along side such an amazing photography team!

Their wedding ceremony was held on New Years Eve at the beautiful All Saints Catholic Church in Houston, Texas with Father John Raphael as the officiant who is also a longtime family friend of the bride. The reception was held at the Four Seasons in downtown Houston the ballroom was stunning – from the floral arrangements to the table settings it was absolutely breathtaking! The DJ and Lighting was provided by Cesar Gil of Unique Style Productions, he did an amazing job of keeping the dance floor packed throughout the night, and was so helpful and easy to work with throughout the night. Just before midnight there was a photo countdown which culminated with cannons that sent confetti onto the dance floor and sparklers that went off on top of the centerpieces on the tables in the ballroom, it was an amazing way to ring in the New Year!

We hope you have as much enjoyment attaching their films as we did making them!

Cheers!
