We were so lucky to be part of Anjali + Rick’s amazing wedding this past weekend. I always enjoy experiencing different places and different cultures and this wedding was exceptional! You can tell when you hang out with these two how perfect they are for each other, they are a really incredible couple!
The events of Anjali + Rick’s wedding took place over three days at Rick’s aunt and uncle’s beautiful farm in Maine – complete with a private runway and an airplane hangar! It starting Friday morning with the Haldi ceremony where family members prepare the bride and groom for the wedding with a paste designed for good complexion that is applied with grass brushes – kind of like an Indian spa treatment! This in itself was incredibly fun and really set the mood for the weekend. Friday evening’s events took place in the hangar including incredible performances and speeches from family and close friends. The wedding ceremony took place on Saturday and started with the baraat – Rick’s procession on a horse. The bridal entrance unlike anything I’ve ever experienced as Anjali was flown in on a vintage 2-seater plane! They had a traditional Vedic ceremony under a mandap which they made. Their ceremony was absolutely beautiful and despite the threat of rain throughout the weekend the wet weather held out until everyone was under the tent for the reception.
We really enjoyed working with their photographers – Christy Murray Photography from Simsbury, Connecticut! Christy and her husband were so nice and really fun to work with… plus their work is fantastic! I can’t wait to see what they captured for Anjali + Rick!
Sunday morning they held a farewell gathering where we surprised them with an overnight edit of their wedding film trailer which we premiered in the hangar. As everyone was enjoying breakfast outside I snuck inside to set everything up. Everyone loved the trailer so much they yelled out for an encore showing of the trailer!
Enjoy!
