Travel Reward Cards

  • American Express Platinum - 80k Bonus Points!

I love the Amex Platinum card because of the long list of amazing benefits for frequent travelers like the incredible Centurion lounges. The Platinum card earns 5x points on airfare booked through AmEx Travel or the airline, and 5x points on hotels booked through AmEx Travel. The steep $695 annual fee is easily offset by the benefits if you travel often, but if you only travel once or twice per year this may not be the best card for you.

Pros: Some of the best travel benefits, no foreign transaction fees, 5x points on airlines booked direct & hotels booked with AmEx, big signup bonus // Cons: Expensive annual fee

  • Capital One VentureX - 75k Bonus Points!

This is the hottest new card with an insane 10x points on certain hotel & rental car bookings through Capital One, and a $300 annual travel credit offsets most of the $395 annual fee. This card also includes Hertz top tier President’s Circle status and many additional travel benefits.

Pros: Double points on everything, $300 annual travel credit, 5x points on airfare & 10x points on rental cars booked through Capital One, great signup bonus! // Cons: High annual fee, not as many travel benefits as AmEx Platinum

  • United Airlines Personal & Business Cards - up to 90k Bonus Miles!

I always recommend having your favorite airline’s credit card because you’ll enjoy some perks that more than make up for the $99ish annual fee. The airline I fly most often is United so I use the Explorer card. There are now a variety of cards that earn United miles including one with no annual fee, or a higher annual fee card with enhanced benefits.

  • American Express Blue Business Card - 15k Bonus Points, 2x points on everything!*

This is a great way to get started earning points with your business purchases because this card comes with no annual fee and earns double points on everything *up to the first $50k in annual spending. This is the card we use most often for business purchases!

Pros: Double Points on everything (the first $50k annually) & No Annual Fee // Cons: Limited travel benefits, low signup bonus, foreign transaction fees
